Fusion Lifestyle & Fashion Quarterly Event' in Abuja

 Fusion Lifestyle & Fashion Quarterly Event's 3rd edition was held at the Yar’adua center, Abuja, 17th and 18th of July. The event was attended by about 2000 guests.

 Probly bargaining, am good at that...i deserve a degree in it, when i walk in the boutiquers jsi go ' Oh no,she's here!'

 And of course lots of fabric!!

I'm an ulimate shoppaholic  so just the sight of these guys is keeping my screen, cant imagine it. On ultimate shopping events..I can go ballunas!

2 days of shopping,60 participants, including exclusive pieces from Dzyn, House of Silk, House of Marie, Berry’s Couture, Iconola, Tae, Coco Couture, Ms Makor, Serendipity, Tai and Mostyle. Other participants included Kazelo, Modest Flair, Literati, Scentuals, Pillow Talk, Fabrica, Candy Cabin, Sleek, Ardyss Bodymagic, Thots on Tees, Malabis Lingerie, La Pooza, MID Islamic Clothing, Leries Accessories, Adanna’s Collection, Shukr, Essence Belle d’jour, Mizzy B, The Closet, Ianthe Beauty etc


Some guests won prizes which included movie tickets, spa treats at Beyond indulgence day spa, free meals at Vanilla Restaurant, free lingerie from Lapooza, cupcakes from Cupcake Cutie and a tunic from Dzyn Couture.

 With lots of stuff on sale,clothes, shoes and bags for ladies, men and kids,jewelry, lingerie, make up, accessories, fabric and fabric accessories, home decor, toys, health products.

...A whole dy of shopping and cheking out sales, spa treatment..Mustabeen fun...I can imagine the excitement rush of adrenaline on the sight of stuff on sale...lol

MY VIEWS ON VOGUE AFRICA....

 Cameroonian photographer Mario Epanya was start up in  promoting the idea of a Vogue Africa launch.

 Using beautiful African models and mock-up Vogue Africa  covers to promote the purchase of Vogue Africa  license, Epanya fought for the idea of promoting the African woman and African fashion’s latest developments.

"I think African women are very strong and optimistic, and a Vogue Africa would be the ultimate homage to them. The Vogue edition could also help support the development of African fashion" Out of nowhere, out came these Gazillion supporters!  The internet was a abuzz, it was Vogue Africa everywhere! Epanya pitched the fictional magazine covers to Conde Nast – the folks behind the Vogue brand  – and they rejected his proposal as he expressed on his Facebook page: “DEAR ALL. The Wait is over. Condé Nast said NO to an African license of VOGUE. So this is the last cover. Enjoy, but it’s a beginning of something.”

So I found this campaign quiet interesting.And well I think, since Conde Nast said No to Vogue Africa saying “Africa” just isn't a big enough market..then fuck Vogue! But they don't want to make an alternate African version of Vogue we cant make them, Mario had an excellent idea I agree  and I i was quite taken too.
Many critics have said Africa is not a country so it would be hard to make a Vogue Africa,There is no Vogue Asia or Europe but what are geographical borders when it comes to fashion and entertainment?  it will be a starting point on the whole ' Africa Unite' idea donchu think? Other critics have also pointed out...There are more pressing issues in Africa besides a magazine. War, disease, and environmental disasters are affecting the people leaving them without homes, water, food, adequate healthcare, economic security, and education. Honeslty speaking that was my state of mind too 3 weeks ago, i was like 'why do we need a Vogue Africa while children are starving, countries need aids...'



But  aren't these problems in every continent as well? Africa  has been victimized for so long, but its not its we don't have fashion as well and fun, its this ignorant state of mind that was proved wrong at the world cup, that we have nothing going on except problems and more problems.

we have fashion, we have beauty we have style, its not selfish its thoughtful that we want to express our own fashion sense and its reasonable but the fact is, its his Magazine, we cant make him give us Vogue if he doesn't want to.

I , personally don't think its  important to have a vogue Africa...mind all talk about needing to express our own Beauty, our own style... but do we necessarily need to do it on Vogue? A White-biased magazine? Really? I know most people wont side with me but if Conde Nast said NO, what we need to give him is competition.
What we need is our own Version Vogue...All Africa, think about it, Vogue Italia has an All black Issue which went off shelves in an instant in 2008! Imagine If we create our own magazine of such quality such class. It would be a hit! It would give Vogue a run for their money! The competition will be First Class Bitter!
And that's what we need, an  alternative magazine Bigger than Vogue, which will cover the whole of Africa. Our Fashion Industry, our fashion weeks, our fashion seasons,our fashion trends, our celebrities,our labels, just us! And make the whole world want to buy it! We can even work at it so it benefits all the charities in need of assistance through this newly born mag But the thing is we're calling on Vogue because we ourselves think we cant do it, right? Well Mr. Vogue doesn't want to so this should be a wake up call.

 
There is a rise in African Fashion Magazines, African Fashion and entertainment Blogs which feature latest trends in Africa and world wide....We have plentiful fashionable Celebs to cover Africa-wide. Numerous African Fashion weeks and African Fashion labels, thousands of writers (me included, ahem ahem) and achievers..So why not start our own Exclusive-to die for every month copy of an All-African Magazine.Which features fashion, news, trends, fashion weeks from All over Africa, writers from across the continent and it will be a black issue from page one..WHO NEEDS VOGUE AFRICA?
